The actress rejected two Hollywood projects recently. But clearing the air sources close to Nandana say , “She rejected those movies as they had few nude sequences to be shot and she wasn’t comfortable shooting for those sequences.”

Nandana was even offered the role of a protagonist in an Italian film based on Mahasweta Devi story titled choli ke peeche. The film was to be directed by Italo Spinelli, produced by RAI, and shot by Blasco Giurardo, the cinematographer of Cinema Paradiso.

But once again Nandana rejected to do this movie as she was asked to do nude scenes. Although the film had a powerful story and a brilliant script Nandana had no other option but to reject the International flick. Nandana decided not to play this part “It’s a powerful story and although I support it fully I feel the subject matter is such that the tribal girl’s nudity cannot avoid becoming unintentionally voyeuristic and eroticized even though that is definitely not the objective.”

Celina Jaitley faces hate mails for support of gay community

Just recently, Celina Jaitley had expressed her support for the gay community at the re-launch of the magazine for the gay community ‘Bombay Dost’. She had also participated in the Gay Parade in Mumbai and called for the abolition of the laws that treat homosexuality as a crime.

But seems, Celina’s support for homosexuality did not go down well with the people, for the lady has been flooded with various hate mails and messages after the launch party. Some even questioned Celina’s sexuality and wrote that she too is a homosexual.

But strong as she is, Celina is unperturbed by all this. Celina vehemently conferred that this is a human right deserved by every person. During the launch itself she had stated: “It saddens me that people have so much hatred towards sexual minorities and people who show them support.

It’s also unfortunate that people have not stopped their hatred against the gay community but have only learnt to mask it.”

Salman not gifted me house: Asin

Bollywood actress Asin has declined the report that her co-star of London Dreams has gifted her house.

Asin said that she is still living in the same house ever since moving to Mumbai to shoot for Aamir Khan’s Ghajini. Interestingly, she hadn’t met Salman then.

Asin has been linked with Salman ever since they joined hands for London Dreams. It was reported that Salman has dumped Katrina Kaif because of her relationship with him. Asin has denied the rumours.

This time around, she is miffed at the rumours that Salman has bought a house for her.

Why Karan Johar is turning blogger

Like his colleagues Amtiabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, ace filmmaker Karan Johar has also started blogging, but says he is doing it to put his thoughts into writing rather than vocalising them all the time.

“I’ve always been a closet writer. I’ve been offered newspaper columns that I almost did, but never got down to,” Karan told IANS.

“I feel a blog would be a good way to express my thoughts on cinema. Things that don’t routinely get space in the traditional media outlets these days,” added the director who is all set to direct his next “My Name is Khan” with Shah Rukh Khan.

Karan promises to be regular.

“But not compulsive. I don’t see myself blogging from my sets when I start shooting ‘Khan…’ or when I’m abroad for my various events.”

Director Raksha Mistry says, "I don't understand why so much is made of kissing and lovemaking in films. I feel sorry for Emmy. He had promised himself that he won't repeat the kissing act but when we narrated the subject to him, we told him the kiss is an subject to him, we told him the kiss is an integral part of the script, as the film is about an extra-marital affair. He did ask me whether it was absolutely essential, and when I said 'yes', he agreed."

Akbar Khan announces his forthcoming film Taxi Driver

After dealing with the historical film Taj Mahal, Akbar Khan ventures into the contemporary arena this time. He has started work on his next film which he wants to title Taxi Driver. But since the rights of the title are with Dev Anand who starred in a classic film by the same name, he intends to request the veteran actor for the copy rights of the title.

Ekta Kapoor’s new multi-starrer ‘?’
